New information about the remains of murdered Yingying Zhang may be released this afternoon at a press conference Friday.
According to WAND, the remains could be in a Vermillion County landfill. Steve Beckett with Becket Law Office in Urbana said he learned the information through the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
News partner 25 News Reports that convicted killer Brendt Christensen’s defense team disclosed the information as a part of an immunity agreement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office told Becket.
There is one landfill in Danville, but it is unclear whether police have already searched it for Zhang’s remains.
The press conference is being held at the Beckett Law Office Friday afternoon at Urbana.
Christensen was found guilty for Zhang’s kidnapping and murder and was sentenced to life in prison in July.
