CHICAGO, Ill. — Dr. Aaron Rossi, CEO of Reditus Laboratories in Pekin, spoke during Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s daily COVID-19 briefing about the work that is being done locally.
“Once COVID struck, we pivoted quickly and had a few discussions with UnityPoint Health to decide to make the investment to become testing to try and help the state and the country,” Rossi said.
In the past several weeks, Reditus has hired 75 employees.
With a partnership through Thermo Fisher Scientific, the lab will be able to increase the capacity to 4,000 tests per day.
Rossi said they are working around the clock.
“Providing tests for several drive-thru testing locations, Heartland Health in Peoria, along with large employers across the country,” Rossi said.
Rossi thanked local partners that helped them out during this time.
“Also, all our efforts wouldn’t be made possible without our partnership with UnityPoint Health and our pathologists at Peoria Tazewell Pathology Group, Thermo Fisher, and the City of Pekin,” Rossi said.
