CHICAGO — A federal judge has granted an early termination of supervised release to former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis said in Tuesday’s order that prosecutors agreed to the early release.
Former President Donald Trump commuted Blagojevich’s 14-year prison sentence last February.
FBI agents arrested Blagojevich in 2008 after wiretaps recorded him touting his power to appoint someone to then President Barack Obama’s Senate seat to land a high-paying job or campaign cash.
Blagojevich was also accused of trying to shake down a Children’s Hospital.
The 64-year-old Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 on corruption charges.
