EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to show the public what it’s planning to upgrade the Bob Michel Bridge.
A public meeting is being held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at East Peoria City Hall, 401 W. Washington St.
They’re going to introduce a study on proposed improved pedestrian and bike access to the bridge, which carries Illinois 40 over the Illinois River. The study covers the intersection at Southwest Adams in Peoria, to River Road and Tractor Drive in East Peoria as part of upcoming rehab plans
The work will be part of the upcoming bridge rehab project.
Public comment on the plans will be accepted at the meeting, and be sent electronically and through the mail until the end of the year.
