PEORIA, Ill. — Population changes are prompting Peoria leaders to redraw district boundaries.
The process took another step forward on Tuesday with a virtual meeting where three proposed maps were presented by city staff.
According to news partner 25 News, Peoria needs to expand three districts, while contracting the other two – Districts 4 and 5 – to ensure each has just over 22,600 people.
This was the fourth meeting in a process that began in September.
Another redistricting meeting is scheduled in two weeks, with others scheduled every two weeks through the end of March.
