PEKIN, Ill. – More details are being released about last week’s fatal accident in Washington that claimed the life of a local resident.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley says Jerry Armstrong, 55, died due to “multiple blunt force injuries sustained as a pedestrian struck by motor vehicles,” based on an autopsy.
Armstrong was crossing the street at the intersection of Washington Road and School Street when he was struck by either one or two vehicles.
Washington Police said last week they’re looking for a vehicle that passed the accident scene travelling westbound toward East Peoria.
They have since said on social media they have received surveillance video, but the accident is otherwise still being investigated.
