PEORIA, Ill — Central Illinois Democratic Congresswoman Cheri Bustos says the division among Americans about who and what to blame for the current state of world affairs must ease.
“We should be rallying around our own flag”
She shared thoughts on the matter during a visit with WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show” on Friday, prior to a visit to the Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute.
During the interview, Bustos said it was her opinion that all blame should remain firmly placed upon the shoulders of one man, Russian President Vladimir Putin. and that Americans must “remain unified at home.”
She said American citizens blaming the U.S. or the Biden Administration for what’s happening in Ukraine is “not well thought out and counterproductive.”
The 17th District Congresswoman also credits President Biden for bringing “two thirds of the world’s economy” to bring crippling sanctions against Russia.
Bustos also spoke about the rising price of consumer goods, particularly gasoline.
She believes the reincorporation of auto fuels blended with E15 ethanol could be a quick fix for high gas prices, perhaps bringing them back down by a dollar or more.
Bustos agrees that most cars built in the last twenty years can take E15 gasoline without sustaining any damage or other negative impacts.
