CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Metamora High School’s boys basketball team will head to the state championship game. The Redbirds will face Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin in the IHSA Class 3A title game Saturday in Champaign, after defeating Number One-ranked Chicago Simeon 50-47 Friday afternoon.
SHG defeated Chicago St. Ignatius earlier in the day Friday 50-39. Simeon and St. Ignatius will play in the 3rd Place game Friday night.
Saturday’s championship game tips off at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Illinois-Champaign’s State Farm Center.
