PEORIA, Ill. — A two year old child involved in an already deadly UTV crash in Tazewell County earlier this month has reportedly himself died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The update is according to a news release sent early Monday by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
He says 2-year-old Ryle Embree was pronounced brain dead on Friday morning at 9:40 a.m. by doctors and nurses at OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
The boy was involved in a collision that happened six days prior on March 19th.
The UTV the child was riding in with six other people hit a pickup truck at Townline and Locust Roads about 4 miles south of Tremont.
It makes a total of three of the seven who were on board the UTV now dead.
All are believed to be relatives. The other victims were identified as Ashley and Sarah Embree, aged 22 and 16 respectively.
Five other people were hurt in the wreck.
Illinois State Police said as of last week, their investigation into the crash was ongoing.
