PEORIA, Ill. – A local credit union says, like other entities these days, scammers are out to get your bank information.
CEFCU says some of its members have received calls “spoofed” to look like one of their customer service numbers, in order to try and get personal account information.
In some cases, the credit union says callers are asking customers if they’ve done large amounts of shopping out of state.
CEFCU says it will never call you asking for such information, and if you have received such a call, you should call them.
