PEORIA, Ill. — Arson appears to be the cause of a fire early Tuesday morning in Peoria.
Crews were called to S. Stanley Street, between W. Humboldt and W. Hayes Streets just after 6 a.m.
Fire Battalion Chief Clint Kuhlman said smoke was seen coming from the first-floor windows and doors. Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
A search of the home found no one inside, it was vacant.
Damage was estimated at $5,000.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
