PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – A gas station chain is in the midst of building a location in Peoria Heights.
That’s after village officials say in a news release the Peoria Heights Village Board approved back in September the plans for Beck’s to locate on War Memorial Drive.
They say the Illinois Department of Transportation has yet to sign off on the deal, which they need to weigh in on for ingress and egress issues, since War Drive is U.S. Highway 150.
There’s expected to be an 8,500 square feet main building, 20 gas pumps, and a car wash, and will be open 24 hours a day when it’s complete.
Beck’s has other locations across the region, including in Washington, and is based in Princeton.
“We are super excited to get going on this project,” said Bill Smith, Beck Oil president, in a news release. “We’re just pumped to be part of the Village.”
