PEORIA, Ill. – As the winter storm taking over central Illinois is causing conditions to worsen, local authorities are issuing collision alerts.
Collision alerts are for incidents where vehicles can still drive away and no one has injuries. Authorities are asking people to exchange relevant information and to report the incidents to specific locations.
In the city of Peoria, people are asked to go to the police station at 600 SW Adams St. within 36 hours of the incident.
For Peoria County, you have 48 hours to report fender-benders to the Sheriff’s Office at 301 North Maxwell Road.
East Peoria also has a collision alert in place similar to Peoria’s. People are asked to go to the police station at 201 W. Washington Street within 36 hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning through Saturday at 6:00 A.M. Blowing snow with gusts as high as 45 MPH are forecasted.
