PEORIA, Ill. – A Hanna City man has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of causing a fatal accident near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie last month.
Jeremy Perry, 43, was arraigned Thursday after a grand jury earlier in the week charged him with multiple counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and Driving on a Revoked License.
The crashed happened in mid-January and claimed the life of Miriam Schmid, 43, of Edwards.
Perry, who is accused of having methamphetamine in his system, allegedly fled the scene of an overdose treatment at a Kickapoo-Edwards Road gas station, then caused the fatal crash that also injured one of Schmid’s children.
Perry is scheduled to be back in court April 13th, ahead of a potential April 24th criminal trial.
