PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say officers recovered the fourth gun of the day Friday night after discovering an allegedly drunk driver.
Officials say it happened around 9:30 near Indiana and Nebraska, when a call came in about a drunk driver that had hit a curb.
A search of John Allen’s vehicle during a traffic stop allegedly turned up a loaded .380 handgun.
Allen, 38, was taken to the Peoria County Jail, on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Driving Under the Influence.
Jail records indicate Allen has been arrested at least seven times since 2015.
