PEORIA, Ill. – A local jury has convicted a Peoria teenager of his role in a carjacking almost a year and a half ago.
Peoria County Court records indicate Dayvon Dillard, now 19, was convicted Wednesday after a three-day trial of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking.
Dillard and a minor were accused pointing a gun at two people in a car on West Marquette Street January 31st of last year, forced them out of the car, then got in and took off.
The car was later found on South Warren.
It’s not clear what has happened to the minor’s case.
Another hearing prior to sentencing in Dillard’s case is scheduled for June 14th.
