PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will be going to federal prison for several years after a gun and ammunition were found in his possession.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Denzel Jordan, 29, was sentenced Thursday to 40 months in prison on charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Jordan was stopped by Peoria Police last October, but when he refused to leave his vehicle and was forced out of the car, prosecutors say a loaded semi-automatic pistol was found tucked in his waistband, and a backpack had two loaded magazines in it.
Jordan pleaded guilty in March. He could have faced as much as 15 years in prison.
