OCALA, Fla. – A teen from Peoria is accused of setting some property at a hotel in Florida on fire, and now faces criminal charges because of it.
Police and Fire in Ocala, Florida say a 16-year-old girl from Peoria faces charges of arson and criminal mischief.
The teen is accused of setting a couch on fire at a Hilton hotel following an argument with her mother around 3:30 Tuesday morning, but the fire spread, and caused some smoke and other damage.
Fire officials say the damage exceeded $100,000.
All the occupants of the hotel were able to evacuate safely.
