PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Riverfront Project is another step closer to becoming reality.
The city’s planning and zoning commission voted 4-1 Thursday afternoon to recommend the plan to the city council.
The estimated cost of the project is $15 million to $25 million.
The Riverfront Project spans the area from the Bob Michel to the Murray Baker Bridge. It includes a band shell, outdoor sports area, temporary flood wall, a playground and a dog park.
According to 25 News, the City of Peoria has not released a timetable for when construction could begin.
The proposal now heads to the full city council for approval next Tuesday.
