PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriffs Department says they arrested people in several different cases over the weekend.
Payton Kelley, 24, Lake Village, Arkansas, was arrested Friday on charges of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault. It’s not clear where the arrest took place, but Sheriff Chris Watkins says the assault occurred to an eight-year-old child.
Kelley is jailed pending future court appearances.
A person is in jail after an infant was found walking down a Peoria County highway. Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says deputies learned that a two-year-old child was walking down the middle of Harmon Highway just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday.
Watkins says it took a parent about an hour to realize the child was gone. Kassandro Zombro, 31, was arrested on a charge of Child Endangerment, and taken to jail. The child was evaluated at a local hospital before being taken into Department of Children and Family Services custody.
Two Peoria residents are in trouble with the law after a car they were in had weapons inside.

Peoria County Sheriffs Deputies say 21-year-olds Jaquan Burns and Samuel Jones are jailed on counts of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card. Deputies stopped the car they were in around 1:30 Sunday morning near Sterling and Nebraska.
Two guns were allegedly found inside the vehicle, one of which had been reported stolen to Peoria Police.
A Peoria man is jailed on a host of charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at someone.
The incident happened on Route 9 Saturday night, after a victim claims the gun-pointing happened while they were driving. The vehicle was found at a gas station near Routes 9 and 24, and a search resulted in a loaded handgun and what was described as a large quantity of methamphetamine were both found.
Paul Hinkle, 43, faces a host of charges from several cases, including Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Driving on a Revoked License, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
