PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – A person was shot in a south side Peoria neighborhood on Tuesday night, while the suspect was holed up in a house and wouldn’t surrender, according to police.
Officers were called about 10:45 p.m. to W. Smith Street, near S. Steubenville Street where they found a male victim. He had a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital. The victim’s condition was not available.
Peoria Police Spokesperson Semone Roth told 25 News that around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a male suspect inside the home was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
