PEORIA, Ill. – A South Peoria home is being demolished after a late-morning fire.
Peoria firefighters say the home near Hayes and Westmoreland was vacant when it became fully engulfed in flames around 10:20 a.m. Thursday.
Crews said they had to open up the roof to help ventilate the fire
The demolition came at the order of a city building inspector.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was hurt.
