WASHINGTON, Ill. (25 News) – Dream Center Peoria is moving forward with its program aimed at giving teen mothers a place to go.
25 News reports Tazewell County has given the go-ahead to Dream Center to purchase a home in Washington for the program. It will be called “Zoe House” and is expected to have its first residents by May 1st next year.
The home will provide 24-seven care as the mothers go through the three-tiered program and curriculum, with goals designed for each mother. Access to the house is application-based, with the program designed to be 12-18 months.
Zoe House Director Denise Bailey says the mothers will learn life skills such as job coaching and money management.
“There are many young moms in our Tri-County area, so we are trying to give them a platform or foundation to build from and find stability,” said Bailey.
