PEORIA, Ill. – A suspect in what is Peoria’s 25th homicide of 2023 was arrested on Saturday, but is not currently in police custody.
A Peoria Police spokeswoman says 29-year-old Robert Lee Hunter, Jr. turned himself in to police and was interviewed by detectives.
She says Hunter, Jr. is, so far, the main suspect in the shooting death of 50-year-old Deandre Blocker, Sr. on November 25th in the East Bluff area.
Hunter was arrested on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and given a Notice to Appear.
The case is still under investigation by the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, and by Peoria Police.
