PEORIA, Ill. — Emergency crews were called just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday to I-74 westbound at the War Memorial Drive exit.
A vehicle went off the ramp and into the trees and caught fire.
There were reports a woman was trapped inside the vehicle, but she got out with what were described as minor injuries.
Before it was extinguished, the fire sent a huge plume of black smoke into the sky near I-74.
