LINCOLN, Ill. – Forecasters warned “locally heavier snowfall” totals were possible from the snow storm Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and they were right.
According to the National Weather Service, the Peoria Airport has received 9.8 inches of snow as of noon Wednesday. But, not far away, an area northwest of Peoria received 11.1 inches of snow as of 9 a.m.
Germantown Hills received a report of 10.5 inches of snow.
In Fulton County, however, Lewistown recorded 14.4 inches of snow, while Vermont in Fulton County reported 11.3 inches.
The snow is expected to take a break later Wednesday, with another inch or less of snow possible between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
