PEORIA, Ill. – A Canton man is going to federal prison for the statutory minimum after pleading guilty last October to a Child Pornography-related charge.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Peoria says a judge gave Joseph Graham, 29, 60 months in prison on a charge of Soliciting an Obscene Visual Depiction of a Minor.
Prosecutors say Graham communicated with someone he believed to be the father of an eight-year-old boy saying he wanted to be the child’s boyfriend and wanted to perform sex acts on him while taking his picture.
That led to an organized meet-up at a coffee shop on North Prospect Road in Peoria two years ago, where federal agents took him into custody.
“The Department of Justice is committed to the safety and well-being of children and will continue to aggressively identify, investigate, and prosecute online sexual predators,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald L. Hanna, in a news release.
Graham will get ten years of parole when he is released from prison.
