EAST PEORIA, Ill. — Two people have died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday night in East Peoria.
The East Peoria Police Department said officers were called to the area of N. Main Street and Centennial Drive around 10:15 p.m. on report of an accident. Officers found two pedestrians who had been struck by a car, which was still on scene.
Both pedestrians died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Tazewell County Coroner will release the names of the victims following notification of family.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. The East Peoria Police Department, Tazewell County Coroner’s Office, and Illinois State Police are investigating.
