PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office says it seized more than 100 grams of black market marijuana following a traffic stop this week.
Deputies say they spotted a suspect vehicle making a left turn without using their turn signal properly and pulled the driver over along S. Laramie Street just off Martin Luther King Dr.
The driver, identified as 39-year-old Jason Vance — was cited for driving on a suspended license, but his passenger, a woman who identified herself as Tempest Lawton was caught with 100 grams of illicit cannabis in a duffel bag.
Officers say there was already a warrant out for the woman’s arrest.
Lawton was taken to the Peoria County Jail, where she awaits a court appearance.
