PEORIA, Ill. — In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, UnityPoint Health-Central Illinois is lighting up the Murray Baker Bridge in green lights this week.
From May 1 through May 4, green lights will shine on the bridge to help raise awareness and funding for UnityPoint’s new initiative, the Young Minds Project.
The project will help build a new center that will provide area children and adolescents access to behavioral health treatment services.
“Lighting up the Murray Baker Bridge is a physical representation of the opportunity we have to light up our children’s futures through the Young Minds Project,” said Mike Unes, Vice President of the UnityPoint Health-Central Illinois Foundation.
“We are committed to ensuring children and adolescents in our area can receive the behavioral health services they need, all under one roof,” Unes added.
Through July 31, an anonymous donor is matching donations to the Young Minds Project up to $1 million. To learn more about the Young Minds Project and to donate, click HERE.
The Mental Health Awareness Month bridge lighting is made possible thanks to Hult Center for Healthy Living grant funding, UnityPoint Health – UnityPlace, and the UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois Foundation.
