25-year-old David E. Dillard Jr., of Peoria, has been arrested on attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting Sunday night outside Laramie Liquors in Peoria.
Sheriff Brian Asbell said Dillard’s charges include: attempted murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Dillard was also a hold for the Illinois Department of Corrections (parole hold), Asbell said.
Dillard remains in pre-trial detention without bond. His first appearance in court is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, but may be extended until Tuesday.
The victim remains in critical condition, according to Asbell.

PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting around 10:45 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of S. Laramie in Peoria.
Officers found a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds inside a car in the parking lot of Laramie Liquors.
The man was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center with what are described as serious injuries.
Detectives have taken in someone for questioning in connection with the incident.
