PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are investigating an attempted murder that occurred Friday evening.
At approximately 9:25 p.m., Peoria Police responded to One Stop Corner Market at 1213 E. McClure following reports of shots fired.
According to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, three male suspects wearing all black approached the store from the west.
The first suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt with yellow letters, the second had a black sweatshirt and a blue/green backpack, and the third was wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt with white stripes.
Two suspects entered the store while a third held the door. As the suspects entered the building, the clerk closed the bulletproof glass, securing himself behind the counter.
Shortly after, one of the suspects pulled the trigger of his gun and attempted to shoot the clerk. The gun failed to discharge, so he pulled the trigger a second time.
This time, the gun discharged, and the bullet hit the bulletproof glass.
The suspects fled the store southbound across McClure. During the entire incident, the suspects did not demand money or attempt a robbery.
There are no reported injuries.
