20-year-old Kandon Bonner has been identified as the victim.
An autopsy showed Bonner suffered multiple gunshots to his thorax.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are investigating the city’s ninth homicide of the year.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said reports of multiple shots fired came from the Hedgehill Apartment Complex, located in the 3600 block of W. Hedgehill Lane, around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.
A caller also told police there was a possible victim inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
“Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle in question abandoned, and a male victim of a shooting on the ground nearby,” Dotson said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The victim’s identity will be released by the coroner at the conclusion of the autopsy,” Dotson said.
Peoria Police have no suspects at this time.
