PEORIA, Ill. – A legendary Peoria basketball coach for decades has died.
25 News reports Dick Van Scyoc passed away Friday afternoon at the age of 98.
Van Scyoc coached basketball in Illinois for more than four decades, spending 28 years of them at Peoria Manual, retiring in 1994 and winning his final state championship that year.
He recorded 501 of his 826 wins at Manual, but coached at Washington and Armington before that.
Funeral services have yet to be announced.
