The letter says he was “beloved by faculty, staff and students” at the school.
It said flags will fly at half-staff over campus for three days in Ed’s honor and information about memorial services would be forthcoming.
Dear Bradley Community,
It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of Dr. Edward ‘Ed’ Bond, Professor of Marketing and Director of the Supply Chain Institute at Bradley University. Ed was a member of the Bradley University marketing department since 1997 and served as its chair from 2007 to 2020.
He was beloved by faculty, staff, and students. Ed believed students should have a sense of both discovery and contribution as they learn and be able to do something they couldn’t have otherwise done. He was passionate and had a zest for teaching.
He came to campus this morning, but was later taken to a local hospital where he passed away unexpectedly.
Our hearts go out to Ed’s family, friends, colleagues, and students during this difficult time. Flags will fly at half-staff over campus for three days in Ed’s honor. Information on services will be forthcoming.
Stephen Standifird
President, Bradley University
