PEORIA, Ill. – Two men were given sentences in federal prison Wednesday — one on a felony sex case, another on a felony drug case.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says Eric Bogan, Junior, 36, Chicago was given more than twelve years in prison Wednesday, after pleading guilty in July, 2022 to a charge of Coercion or Enticement of a Minor.
Prosecutors say Bogan began communicating through an unidentified online platform with what he thought was the father of an 11-year-old girl over a three-month period, offering to pay to have sex with the child and give her a marijuana edible. But, when the meeting was to happen in January, police arrested Bogan.
Bogan could have received between ten years and life in prison for he crime. He’ll be on parole for ten years when he’s released.
Meanwhile, Andrew Howard, 30, Peoria, was sentenced to nearly twelve years in prison for a charge of Distribution of Methamphetamine he pleaded guilty to in June, 2022.
Howard, prosecutors say, sold some methamphetamine several times between July and August of 2021, having more than 200 of it during that period.
A search of Howard’s former Peoria home resulted in five pounds of meth, nearly two thousand dollars in cash, and a handgun.
The potential sentence for the meth charge is between ten years and life in prison, and between five years and life on parole.
Howard gets the minimum amount of time on parole.
