PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria says a number of arrests were made Thursday after the latest special enforcement patrol in his Anti-Violence Initiative.
The chief says thirteen cars were pulled over, eight people were arrested, seven tickets were issued, two vehicles were impounded, and one weapon was seized.
That weapon was a loaded gun, as police say Jeffrey Skinner, 37, was arrested on Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Skinner was arrested not long after he was observed getting into a car on North MacArthur Boulevard.
Among other arrests arrests, two juveniles who allegedly tried to break into a vehicle on East Illinois just before 6:00 p.m.
Also, Prentice Holmes, 39, was arrested on North California after allegedly riding a mini-bike illegally and then fleeing around 8:10 p.m. He was charged with traffic offenses and Resisting Arrest, and was found to be wanted on two Peoria County warrants.
