BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – A lawmaker in this area is looking for another office to run for.
A statement from former State Representative Dan Brady of Bloomington says while he’s looking at running for re-election in the newly re-drawn 88th State House District, he’s also been exploring running for Congress in the 17th District.
That’s the seat former T.V. meteorologist Eric Sorensen has now, and Galesburg philanthropist Ray Estrada is seeking the Republican nomination for in next year’s election.
Brady says he’ll meet with voters, donors, and his family, and look at how he can, “serve the public once again.”
“Being my own man has provided me the knowledge, experience and dedication needed to be an effective representative, whether in Springfield or Washington, DC,” said Brady (R-Bloomington), in a news release. “I look forward to making my decision soon regarding where I can offer my service to do the greatest good.”
Brady lost last November’s election for Secretary of State against Alexi Giannoulias.
The 88th District State Representative seat in Illinois is currently occupied by Decatur’s Dan Caulkins. Caulkins is scheduled to join former Congressional candidate Regan Deering for some sort of a campaign announcement Wednesday in Decatur, Bloomington, Farmer City, and Monticello.
