PEORIA, Ill. – A retired area judge will, at least temporarily, take the place of a retiring area judge.
The Illinois Supreme Court and Justice Lisa Holder White say Judge Kevin Lyons – a former longtime Peoria County State’s Attorney – will retire August fourth from the 10th Judicial Circuit, which includes Peoria and Tazewell Counties, among others.
Currently retired Judge Paul Gillifan will finish Lyons’ term on the bench starting September 5th, ending in December of next year.
Gillifan spent sixteen years as a judge, retiring in April of last year, and spent 24 years as an attorney prior to that.
