PEORIA, Ill. – Three teenagers were arrested after Peoria Police say one of them accidentally fired a gun over the weekend.
Police say it happened around 9:00 Friday night on West Warwick near Big Hollow Road.
They believe two juveniles were playing with a handgun when it went off and struck a wall.
Police arrested 18-year-old Jalen Perez, a 14-year-old female, and a 13-year-old male on charges including Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID Card, Possession of a Firearm Under 21, and Obstructing Justice.
The 13-year-old also faces a Reckless Discharge charge.
The juveniles were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, while Peoria County Jail records indicate Perez was released with Notices to Appear in Court.
