Two women and their dogs escaped a house fire in Hanna City Friday morning.
Logan-Trivoli Fire Chief David Tuttle told news partner 25 News that crews were called to a home in the 12000 block of W. Farmington Road (Route 116) just before 6 a.m. Friday on a report of a vent on fire in a bathroom.
Two Peoria County Sheriff’s Deputies, who were nearby, made their way to the back of the home, trying to put out the blaze with fire extinguishers.
When firefighters arrived, they found a washer and dryer on fire in a back utility room.
Crews had the fire knocked down within 10 minutes.
Tuttle said the fire did not extend through the home, but the home did sustain significant smoke damage.
No injuries were reported.
HANNA CITY, Ill. — The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office alerted motorists early Friday morning that a portion of Route 116, in Hanna City, was closed due to a house fire.
The fire was reported around 6:15 a.m. in the 12000 block of Farmington Road (Route 116).
It was unclear if there are any injuries, or what caused the fire.
Farmington Road was reopened to traffic in both directions just after 7:30 a.m.
