LINCOLN, Ill. — The National Weather Service in Lincoln has confirmed the Saturday night storm that ripped through Central Illinois produced an EF0/low-end EF1 tornado that touched down near Peoria International Airport.
The twister knocked out power for around 400 people in the Bartonville area.
“There was also minor roof damage to some houses,” said Meteorologist Scott Baker, explaining the EF0/low-end EF1 classification.
“With those pieces of information, it can kind of be deciphered a little bit based upon the damage of structures where the range [of classification] is.”
Baker confirmed another tornado touched down in Fulton County, near Ipava.
That one was being classified as an EF0.
